Ohio Supreme Court Rules Contractor Not Liable for Elevator Injury
A worker named Charlie was injured by a malfunctioning elevator used by an employer in Ohio. The court held the employer not an “employer” under state Constitution when the device was used by a worker and the owner or contractor did not own or maintain it. Charlie claimed Workmen's Compensation. the state permitted compensation but the contractor was not penalized.
