Nurse’s quick action saves woman after Cincinnati crash

An off duty nurse from Jewish Hospital Norma J Ryle rushed to Elizabeth Boone after a rear end crash. She gave closed heart massage and mouth to mouth resuscitation, reviving the woman who was not breathing. Boone was treated at General Hospital and released.

Rhodes will not seek higher office after term ends

Gov. James A. Rhodes said he has no plans to run for any office after leaving his state post at year end. He spoke at Lakeland Community College groundbreaking in Painesville and urged expansion of community colleges and a new Ohio medical school. City Faces $3808 Edison Bill for Seven Days of Emergency Power

Norwalk officials received a $3808.97 bill from Ohio Edison for seven days of emergency power during the July 5 blackout. The charge covers only the power, no supervision or overhead. Mayor Harold E. Finch said the rate matches city contracts, and a follow-up meeting discussed standby power options. The municipally owned light plant sale was not on the agenda.
