Fire damages Sandwich Shop. 8000 loss estimated
A kitchen fire at the Sandwich Shop on 85 East Main Street forced five or six residents from apartments above. Firefighters saved one man, Andrew Klinger, from his upstairs room. The building and contents suffered about 8000 dollars in damage, with no injuries reported. The cause was traced to an exhaust fan in the kitchen. Firefighters expected a quick reopening.

The Norwalk Area United Fund Drive aims for 55 526 this fall, 157 under last year s 55 783 goal for the 1966 67 campaign. The board approved the budget after meetings with agencies. Two groups Catholic Youth Organizations and Huron County Mental Health Society dropped out. The Norwalk Senior Center sought admission for the first time with 150 allocated. Several agencies saw increases including Red Cross Salvation Army Boy and Girl Scouts St Vincent De Paul National Traveler s Aid United Community Funds and Councils of America and Ohio Citizen s Council for Health and Welfare.
