Housing Code Suggested by Huron County Health Board

Prosecutor Bernard Freeman said he would recommend adopting state housing regulations by the Huron County Board of Health. The code would define sub standard housing and give legal ground for court cases, enabling inspections, condemnation, and possible demolition of unfit dwellings.

Man hurls concrete block at downtown jewelry store

In Youngstown an unidentified man threw half a concrete block at Brenner's Jewelry Store. The rock rebounded off safety glass and struck the thrower on the head. he escaped as the warning on the glass was unread. Nearby police reported no injuries beyond the attacker.

Two topless dancers Tara and Tasha with seven foot boa constrictors slithered through San Francisco City Hall seeking a courtroom appearance to settle a dispute over copying an act. The court was busy, but the troupe staged a half hour show for Judge Joseph Karesh.

Big sale of heavy equipment draws huge local crowds

More than 450 pieces of heavy construction equipment were examined and sold in a two day sale sponsored by A. J. Baltes Co. in Norwalk. Attendance estimates ranged from over 1,000 to more than 2,000 as crowds filled Route 20 and Norwalk restaurants during the event.

Plane Missing in Lake Erie Rescue Continues

The search for a missing light plane with three aboard resumed at dawn in Lake Erie between Middle and North Bass Island. Debris found Friday hints the plane went down after it left Middle Bass Island Tuesday night bound for Alliance. Passengers were Frank Shreve 40 Alliance businessman pilot, Patricia Nemeth 41 of Cleveland, and Darlene Ambatase of Cleveland.

City Man To Have Heart Operation

Col William C Henry president and general manager of the Northern Ohio Telephone Company will undergo open heart surgery in Cleveland Thursday. Twenty eight blood donors recruited by the Huron County Red Cross and the Northern Ohio Telephone Company will travel to St Vincent Charity Hospital for the operation. He is home for the weekend but has been in Cleveland hospital for weeks and will be readmitted Monday with Mrs Henry accompanying him.

Milk Truck Crash on 86 Newton St Injures Car Passer

A Bell Dairy Milk truck driven by Larry Moore 22 and a passenger car driven by Gary Desmond 18 collided as the milk truck began a left turn into 86 Newton St. The car went off the road, broke a guy wire, and struck a tree. Police in Norwalk continue to investigate the minor crash.

A building permit was issued to Nor walk Boxboard Packaging Company at 61 St. Mary's St for a factory addition. The $50,000 contract was awarded to Roth Bros. Construction Co for the project.

Missing parakeet named Joe reported by neighbor

A blue parakeet answering to the name Joe turned up in the neighborhood yesterday afternoon around 4:00 p.m. Mrs Eric Brunavi of Jl W Chestnut asked that anyone finding Joe contact her and police were informed.
