Beacon illuminated to aid safety at Norwalk airport
An area pilot reported difficulty locating the city county airport near Norwalk due to a dark rotating beacon. Airport Authority president Donald Chandler said the beacon will be lit between dusk and 11 p.m. as a safety measure, with a dedicated meter set up in the Authority’s name amid utility disputes with operator Ron Zoellner. The Authority is also negotiating costs over a stone taxiway project and remains involved in lawsuits with Zoellner.

Milan Village okays rate study and speed limit cut

Second Bridge Caving In Near May Road Collapse
In CELERYVILLE a second bridge on Ladow Road is at risk of collapse after an abutment settled into mud over a foot amid heavy rains. Huron County Commissioners authorized the county engineer to order parts for the Ladow Road span and monitor other bridges for weakness. A prior order to repair the May Road bridge with an aluminum pipe arch faces a monthlong part delay.
