Norwalk Council Told HOY Center Not In Use Here
Karen Leek director of Help Our Youth says HOY serves all of the county though no Norwalk residents have used it. The center offers drop in services for 12 to 26 year olds, counseling on pregnancies venereal disease and family issues, and Wednesday youth nights. Location is 403 East Main Street with plans for 24 hour phone service and live in facilities by August. Funding is 75 percent state and the rest locally, with support from United Funds and volunteers.

New London Driver Charged After Stopping Sign Crash
Roy M. Gardner 1948 W Washburn St charged with reckless operation after a 9 20 p m Tuesday crash at West Washburn and North Main St. Gardner had facial lacerations and the car was heavily damaged. Earlier, two cars collided at Bonded Oil Station as Robert Warner pulled from a curb and struck Halsey Bailey while backing from a space. A separate note says an outdoor education program for Lawrence County sixth graders will be May 14 to illustrate human environmental impact with field trips in Wayne National Forest.

City Council rejected Opper Subdivision plans off Corwin Street citing improper drainage delaying the project for more than 20 homes. Livengood Engineering asked to withdraw the application while Eastwood Village Four Timberlake and Northwood were tabled, and Eastwood Five was referred to planning.
