Bikeway To Open From Milan To Huron April 22
MILAN The 27 mile recreational bikeway between Milan and Huron opens at 10:30 a.m. April 22 with ceremonies at Huron City Park. Dean Sheldon Jr and Timothy Brugeman will speak on origin and route while Robert French offers safety tips. Riders depart about 11 a.m. and may complete the trip in three and a half to four hours.

Five Huron County 4 H counselors attend area workshop
Five Huron County 4 H camp counselors took part in an area counselors workshop at Port Clinton High School on Saturday. Norwalk Board Hires, Tenures Seven Resignations
The Norwalk Board of Education opened contract season by hiring two new elementary teachers Karen L. Dudley and Mollie M. Gerber. Wakeman Township Ditch Assessment Plan Approved
Huron County Commissioners approved a plan for maintenance of a 4000 foot Gawron Group Ditch in Wakeman Township. Five property owners will fund five percent of construction costs for four years through the Huron Soil and Water Conservation District, with ongoing maintenance funding as needed thereafter.

Public charter meeting called off after two attendees
A city charter meeting to explain the proposal was canceled after only two residents attended. One was the wife of a charter commissioner and the other said he had no specific questions. The session, held at St Marys School, was the first of four ward meetings with the next set for 7 30 p m Thursday at Norwalk Junior High School.
