Nixon urges administration wives to speak out on reforms

Wolves maul 15 year old saved by three men at zoo

A 15 year old boy was mauled by four wolves at the San Diego Zoo. Three men jumped into the enclosure to back the wolves off and rescued him. The boy, David Williams of Palos Verdes Estates, was treated at Mercy Hospital after surgery for scalp loss and deep bites.

City to Act on Flood Controls From 1969 Dike Collapse

Service Director Herbert Krogh announced plans to implement a 1970 report by city engineer George Cunitz detailing causes of the Lower Reservoir dike failure. Projects include emergency overflow areas at Memorial Lake and the lower dike, grass coverings, a new passage between reservoirs, and five foot tubes beneath the railway to ease water restrictions.

Power Plant Stops Dumping In Creek

Norwalk municipal power plant no longer releases sewage into Norwalk Creek after connecting to the city sewer system two weeks ago. Service Director Herbert Krogh said the city seeks state and federal funds to build two lagoons for sludge disposal and plans to meet with Ohio Water Development Authority officials in Columbus.
