Parsons Street residents formed a volunteer crew and nearly extinguished a grass fire behind the Oscar Con ley home at 57 Parsons Street before city firefighters arrived. Over the weekend two more grass fires were reported in the area near 40 Breezewood and in Norwalk Township as Herman McCreary reportedly ignited dry grass cases.

The Reflector reports over 20 large dogs missing or shot across the county in one month. Mrs Norman Ward of the Humane Society says 18 theft reports have been filed and four dogs were shot. She notes most incidents occurred on Thursday and Friday and suspects dogs are being sold out of state.
