Jehovah's Witnesses announce a three day assembly at Crane High School and Junior College October 18 to 20. Pres ly Green, circuit supervisor of 17 congregations in the Chicago area and Detroit native, will speak on Moral Responsibilities of Parents and Youth and oversee training for ministers. Local presiding minister Paul E Smith says the program emphasizes applying Bible principles in daily life and helping neighbors learn them. A mass baptism will mark new ministers being submerged, and local ministers will demonstrate Bible teaching skills.
The Northwest Branch library displays 26 items from Brother James Allen’s collection of old Bibles and hymn books in October. Allen, a deacon at First Lutheran Church, has gathered German and Danish editions dating from 1725 to 1900, including Libri Symbolici Ecclesiae Evangeli cae and a Das Neu Testament commemorating Jerusalem’s Church of the Redeemer dedication.
