NCO Congress Hails Daley Stevenson Praise High School Plan

The sixth annual North West Community Organization congress at Holy Trinity High School applauded Mayor Daley for backing a new high school on the Northwest Side and lauded progress on the Noble Division urban renewal. Adlai Stevenson III called community groups essential to urban renewal and cited NCO housing programs as a model for citizen involvement. Delegates supported purchasing a new high school, expanding home ownership programs, and intensifying efforts to eliminate slum housing. New officers include Ronald Caronti as president and 14 vice presidents from religious and community groups.

Logan Square Y Holds Free Day For Kids

The Logan Square YMCA at 3600 Fullerton hosts a Free Day for grammar school youth on February 22 to celebrate George Washington's birthday. Activities include rollerskating a gym jam boree and a movie, with Nancy Lind noting it will truly be free.

Series of six library talks on guiding children's reading

Mora Receives Navy Achievement Medal for Forrestal Fire

The ceremony in Portsmouth, Virginia, honored his leadership of Repair Locker 1 Foxtrot as he directed fire teams and entered a gas suspected area to locate a persistent ice, aiding safe firefighting efforts.
