City Manager George A. Wilson Jr displayed plans for a new municipal building on Cooper Rd and said proceeds from selling unused city land will fund the project. Council authorized bids on 184 acres of Cooper Rd property suitable for housing or business use and noted expansion allowances in the design.
Stephen Dapper a 22 year old of Montgomery is in fair condition after a serious August 27 crash on Miami Avenue in Madeira. He was a passenger in a car driven by Mark Jacobs 21 of Cooper Road who lost control striking a utility pole and a tree. Dapper owned the car and three others were injured though not seriously.
CSNI classifieds test hires a payroll clerk for The Palm Beach Co. and prompts praise for their suburban coverage. A new worker was hired immediately and a patron recommends spreading the word about CSNI classifieds as a neighborhood institution.

Blue Ash city council member Leonard Ingram of 11092 Corrie Ave was arrested Sunday on two counts of receiving stolen goods and one of abusing a police officer. Police found a 1971 Cadillac and a 1970 station wagon believed stolen a year earlier at his possession. Ingram said he bought them from a dealer and did not know they were stolen. He cursed the officer during the investigation and was released on a $2500 bond.
Sycamore High School's athletic boosters will install 120 new lights in the stadium, more than doubling existing lighting. The project will be ready for the opening game as booster members fund it by selling rights for 30 dollars, with acknowledgments in Booster programs.
J Tuck Buening leads Cincinnati Chapter Knights of Columbus efforts to fund a Naturemobile educational van with ecology exhibits and AV gear for programs reaching children and adults. Supporters may mail contributions to Sycamore Athletic Boosters at Box 42224 Cincinnati 45242.
Shroder Junior High School begins the new year on Wednesday Sept 8 with office hours 8 30 to 3. A special 10 30 a m open house for students new to Shroder is Sept 2 in the auditorium. Transfers and record moves must reach or be completed by Sept 8. The daily schedule shifts to 8 20 a m start and 2 20 p m ending.
Refuse normally collected on Monday will be picked up Tuesday September 7 in Deer Park so city workers may observe Labor Day on September 6. All other collections for the week shift one day later than normal, except Friday tree limbs and scrap lumber remain on the usual schedule.
A young girl fell or climbed onto a hot oven and was treated at Bethesda North Hospital after responders from Deer Park Life Squad transported her for evaluation.
