Trucks rumble through residential streets as council hears updates. Bob Bintzler elected Recreation Commission chairman with Bill Wingo as vice chairman. Planned events include a June 3 concert, a March 28 kite contest, a historic walk, a festival, and summer movies in August.
Madeira Council sponsors a grade school window decorating contest April 10 to 24 with entry blanks at the schools. Police plans to train rescue skills in three minutes after CPR training. A local clean up at Blue Ash and Plainfield roads earns thanks to Scout support. Council votes to amend Sunshine rules eliminating $250 notification fees. City buys three police cruisers for 11 680.49 from Thompson Chevrolet.
City of Blue Ash council passes resolution for buying three civil defense sirens not exceeding 27000 dollars with county to reimburse half of the cost. The move ties to historic Cincinnati CIC Industrial Park area and includes Hartman Highway to Malsbury segment.
Residents of Chetbert Drive petition Sycamore Tip trustees to dedicate the privately owned street with Cincinnati Zo0 offering to organize and D'Andrea coordinating. trustees say they lack time but will back any women's club led dedication effort.
At the March 11 Deer Park council meeting Mayor Francis Healy said a call from Senator Bert Taft’s office confirmed rejection of the apartment complex for the three. The HUD office has not responded. final determination rests with the Columbus office. Deputy Director Malcolm Stockwell cited zoning as the local obstacle.
Cincinnati provides a $100 000 loan at 4 2 percent from the Community Development Revolving Loan Fund to Pleasant Ridge Community Council and a development group of about 15 residents. Funds will remodel Monery Road buildings including Busken's Bakery Langs Kali Kai Gentleman's Quarters and a six car garage. A new facade and a parking lot are planned as City of Cincinnati aims to acquire the Monte Vista Theatre site.

All Saints church parish member Mrs Marjorie Ross is among 11 area women to receive the St Anne Award March 18 at 7 30 p m in St Peter in Chains Cathedral. The honor is Scouting's top religious award for adults.
