Even to the Point of sneaking them into my room and letting them take a Nap with me. One Day the three of us had barely settled in bed when Mother called for me to ride into town with her. I told the Little goats to go on to sleep and id be Back in a a Little while carefully tucking the cover under their chins. When i returned i was so delighted to see they were sleeping away just As id left them that i brought Mother in to show her what id accomplished. I done to remember her exact words now but when she headed for the Kitchen drawer containing Quot my butter paddle i grabbed the goats and headed for the Yard. Anyone who has Ever been stung on the rear by a Buffer paddle a a id a butter paddle can appreciate my haste. Mother always said it Hurt her More than it Hurt me.
