Lincoln County displays at the Nebraska State Fair collected by a committee led by FB A Olson won 36 first prizes 27 second prizes 13 third prizes and 4 fourth prizes across crops including white winter wheat oats corn and alfalfa with top stalks from Koch Bros near North Platte. The exhibit face shortages and awaiting railroad settlement to cover transportation costs. The committee thanks all who assisted. Successful potato growing experiment at Mitchell Substation
At North Platte’s Experimental Substation the Mitchell Experimental Substation planted potatoes in two fields, one manured and one in an old alfalfa stand. Harvest yields reached fifty bushels per acre on the manured field and one hundred fifty on the alfalfa field, illustrating strong potential for varied soil conditions.
