Mothers to meet as sponsors for hi v youth lunches
The mothers of HI V boys plan to meet this afternoon to organize as sponsors of the noon lunches their boys attend weekly. The Buffalo Bill gun club asks shooters to enter a trophy shoot on Sunday Sept 24 at 2 pm for a high gun prize on 76 targets. Firemen were called to Sun Theatre basement for an unknown origin fire with no damage. Delegates to the American Legion state convention at York were R L Cochran A C Tilly Jos F Nolan and H R Bradley reporting about 600 delegates and a good meeting. Fireworks were a notable feature at the fair drawing praise from managers and patrons. Mr and Mrs N B Spurrier were three miles from town when their car rolled in a ditch but they escaped injury after trips to California and back without accidents. Chas Shaffer faces court today on charges of possession of a still and 500 gallons of mash. Town discussion says he may be an agent for an unnamed party. he will plead not guilty and be bound over to district court.

Firemen Parade to Advertise Carnival in North Platte
The Volunteer Firemen will parade Main Street at 7 30 PM headed by the band and wear full regalia with equipment in line They will open the carnival at the Lloyd with an auction of gifts from North Platte merchants Tickets cost one dollar and are sold at local garages and stations The rest of the evening features carnival amusements and other events.

Lincoln County Fair Displays Highlight Local Agriculture
The Lincoln County Fair opened Tuesday and closes today with strong crop displays despite poor weather. Exhibits from Hershey Sellers Sutherland Maxwell Osgood Payne North Rosedale and Cottonwood precincts impressed visitors. Hog displays drew attention as the largest ever at the fair and draft horses from the D A Hill ranch drew admiration. Poultry quality was high though the Experimental Station offered no display. Judging continued with a partial prize list. full winners to be printed in the Tribune.
