Nine Prisoners Escape From Nene Jail By Forcing Wall
Nine prisoners confined in the county jail escaped Wednesday night by drilling through a cemented wall near the floor using a bed iron casting. The group, mostly serving short sentences for minor offenses, included two Mexicans, three youths, and two men charged with trespass and weapons offenses. Salisbury resumed pursuit as the town noted the escape.
