New Depot Contract To Be Set This Week
General Manager Jeffers of the Union Pacific said plans for the new depot have changed to a smaller interior, with dimensions and cost unchanged. The contract will be awarded September 15, and work will start as soon as materials and labor are secured. The statement ends rumors of a less pretentious building. Infantile Paralysis Case Reported in Hershey Home
An eighteen month old girl in the Ralph Barry home near Hershey developed infantile paralysia and was quarantined after county physician Dent confirmed the diagnosis. The child’s condition was reported improved as of publication.

Lincoln County Wins Second Place for Exhibit at State Fair
The state fair judges awarded Lincoln County a second place for its collective exhibit in the western division, while Beatts Bluff county took the flat first. Scotta Hill county aimed for 1916’s top award, built a grand exhibit, and earned praise though Lincoln’s display drew strong attention and favorable publicity. Progress Report From Fair Grounds Yesterday
Volunteers gathered at the fair grounds yielding over twenty men and sight teams. The agricultural building and stock barn near half complete while the race track nears completion with a few days of work left. Bleachers at the ball park were moved and work continues to ready the grounds for the fair.
Births and Club Meet Set at Chamber of Commerce
Eon Dr. Twiném reports a daughter born to Mr and Mrs Harry Col enris at 614 Oak Street yesterday and a son Monday to Mr and Mrs Ed Wilson south of town. The Twentieth Century Club holds its first yearly meeting at the Chamber of Commerce rooms next Tuesday evening September 12. All women interested in home work are urged to attend. The year's work manual will be distributed and a fine program is planned.
