Busy Social Season Aboard Local Mother and Ladies Clubs
Mrs. Fred Perritt hosted a Mother's Club gathering Wednesday with pleasant conversation and refreshments. Miss Eileen Keliber hosted a small party at Mrs. Albert Schatz's home Tuesday with a light lunch during games. Mrs. Nathan visiting Des Moines was entertained Wednesday by Mrs. J J Halligan, with refreshments. The 20th Century Club met Tuesday with plans for a year studying English novelists and trips. Lectures covered voyages from New York to Liverpool and Liverpool to London, and Sir Walter Scott’s life and poetry were discussed. A watermelon feast concluded the afternoon. The next meeting is September 19 at Mrs. Clark Buchanan’s home.
