A girl baby was born Wednesday afternoon to Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Gaunt. Several society notices follow including Mrs. W. C. Hutchins returning from Seattle, a report on Passenger Brakeman S igart resigning being erroneous, and various local engagements and trips.

Wm. E. Shuman moved into his new house in the Trustee's addition this week. He now has one of the most comfortable and best appointed homes in town. The local union of boilermakers holds its annual ball at the opera house on November 25. Sixty-one cars of hay were shipped by Harrington & Tobin between September 28 and October 15 amid price slumps. Religious and social notices fill the page with entertainments, bazaars, and meetings across North Platte as civic life buzzes.
At the Experimental Sub-Station a sale lists Duroc Jersey boars at 15 dollars each. Twenty five head of yearling steers and heifers, mostly Aberdeen Angus, priced with Brome grass from 1908 crop saved at 10 cents a pound. Kherson seed oats offered at 6 cents per bushel.
