A local business announces a money raising sale to collect five thousand dollars by the twentieth of the month. The store promises prices never heard of in North Platte with numerous bargains on dress goods including Serges Henriettas plaids and extra heavy overalls as they sacrifice to gain customers.
County clerk Holtry delivered election supplies to precincts in the valley as Hershey hosts a large Republican rally. W. T. Wilcox and H. S. Ridgley spoke to an overflowing hall, praising the GOP while fusionists drew some applause but restraint from dissenters.
Mr. and Mrs B P Baker, former locals now in North Platte, visited the area last week and plan several days in McCook after a stop in Ash Grove. Baldwin shipped four cattle cars to Edgar Neb. he is nursing a sprained shoulder from recent riding. Mrs J M Resto was ill but improving. A Dickens Delivery Co price list follows.
The Omaha World-Herald reports three rail proposals watched by railroad men ahead of a Burlington entourage led by President Perkins and VP Harris with General Manager Holdrege. Eastern journals show three routes, including a Kearney to Bridgeport line up the North Platte valley.
H Petrie manager of the Denver stock yards was seriously shot in the left arm by an accidental shotgun discharge while hunting on the island near Maxwell. Seated in a wagon with Will Dolan, the full load tore flesh above the elbow and cut a main artery, causing severe bleeding. Dr Ward treated him. he was placed on No. 3 that night and returned to Denver.
