Colored Mother Goose Prints Donated to City Library
Eighteen colored prints illustrating Mother Goose rhymes were donated to the City Library last week by Miss Anna Kramph. North Platte High School Class Day Exercises Held
A pair sized crowd attended the Friday afternoon class day exercises at Franklin Auditorium. The program featured a class song by Dale Godwin, salutatory by Ray Eason, class history by Frances Edwards, a duet by Junior Hingian and Louis Trexler, and a class prophecy acted by Ardis Sillasen with Everett Bradley delivering the valedictory address.

Pioneer William Burroughs Dies at Grand Island Home
William Burroughs died at the Soldiers Home in Grand Island and will be buried from Maloney Chapel Wednesday at 10:80. Born in Akron Ohio January 16 1845 he served in the Civil War and helped build the Union Pacific through North Platte. He worked for the railroad in various positions before retiring to the home. He leaves two sons John and William in California a stepson Charles of this place and a sister in the east.

The High School cadets and the Cadet Band left for Gothenburg to stay through the week. Commandant Morgan and Director Killian accompany them for a likely instructive camp. The King Fong Cafe opens in a building formerly used by Robert Dickey and Sutman Bakery. Manager Mr Lock and assistant Mary Chinn lead a group of Chinese owners with wait staff including Harry Chinn. An opening banquet for about forty guests featured elaborate courses and Oriental dishes alongside fried chicken. Senator Hoagland spoke at the conclusion.

Lincoln County honors eighth graders with diplomas
Almost two hundred Lincoln County students from North Platte and surrounding areas received eighth grade diplomas last Saturday in the Franklin Auditorium. Awards included a United States History medal for the junior high pupil with top marks and an award for the best eighth grade performer outside North Platte. Rebecca Tout won the junior high medal. several eighth graders were tied for the top outside North Platte, prompting further testing. County Superintendent Mrs. Aileen G. Cochran led the commendation as schools reported large, well-prepared classes. Dewey McGrew left for Scottbluff for a week.
