Commissioners Settle the Wickersham Damage Case
County commissioners paid widow 2000 in cash and 255.66 for funeral expenses totaling 2265.56 to settle the Wickersham damage claim. Chair man Koch arranged the settlement at Grand Island after the claim of 15000 and a prior demand of 3000. Maxwell Wickersham died when his car struck a poorly protected culvert hole on the road to the state farm on September 1 1917.

Mrs Hall Dies After Burns in Gasoline Fire
Mrs. Hall, Mrs. W. H. Hall, formerly of McPherson county, died at Twinem hospital Tuesday night from burns suffered while trying to move a burning gasoline can. Her funeral will be held Friday morning at the Tryon cemetery. she leaves a husband and eight children, six of them aged five to fifteen.
