John McConnel of Somerset sent a carload of about a year old baby beef steers and heifers weighing roughly 867 pounds each to the Denver market. They sold for 6.15 dollars per hundred and drew high praise from experts as the best baby beef seen in Denver yards in days. McConnel had also sold a seven year old bull for 300 dollars via mail order and inspection, with the buyer pleased.
