Sam Grace visited from the west on Wednesday. Mrs. Victor Van Gooets travels to Omaha and Lebanon to visit daughters. The cold spell ended Tuesday night and warmth followed. Rev. McDaid will deliver the graduation sermon at St Patrick’s church next Sunday at 10 40 AM. Mrs. W. F. Cody heads to Troy New York to join the Wild West Show for weeks. Miss Gertrude Baker returns home for summer vacation after being re elected as city school teacher in Gothenburg. Miss Marie Von Goetz also returns home for summer and re elected as Overton principal. Cody land west of town at Sixth Street head is site for the Wild West Show in August. Wanted a girl for general house work at 121 West Fourth Street. Lincoln county corn acreage likely the largest, with wheat fields turning to corn. Rev Geo F Williams and J F McAbee speak at Nebraska State Health Association in Omaha June 12 and 11. Williams on The Minister’s Duty in Keeping a Clean Town and McAbee on The Y M C A. Indian Card Club members enjoyed Wednesday afternoon with prizes won by Mrs Healey and Mrs Schatz. Commencement at Keith theatre next Thursday. eighteen graduates. One sixth of US pumice comes from Garfield and Walker precincts in Lincoln County. The Tribune leases a room in the Geozee building on East Sixth Street, moving around June 15 for a new press and machinery. Tribune has occupied current location since August 1887.
Memorial services to be held Sunday May 28 at 8 p m at the Keith theatre with a sermon by Rev. C B Harman. All churches and residents are invited to attend. The G A A W R B C Sons of Veterans and Spanish War veterans will attend in a body.
Mr and Mrs William Lee Park announce the marriage of their daughter Evelyn Viola to Guy J Condon on Tuesday evening January sixteenth one thousand nine hundred eleven at eight oclock 6139 Michigan avenue Chicago Illinois.
The Omaha booster group arrived in North Platte just after 1 PM Tuesday aboard a Pullman train. A marching band led the visit as visitors toured the town for about an hour visiting customers. Mayor Patterson accompanied guests to the experimental farm to advocate locating the agricultural school there.
A five room house owned by Warrington railroad in Peniston's addition and occupied by Mr and Mrs John Ruick burned to the ground early Wednesday. The fire started about two o'clock with no one inside the house. Ruick works nights for the railroad and Mrs Ruick is hospitalized. The interior burned and nothing was saved. the home insured for 400 dollars with furniture losses partially covered by insurance.
About 250 members and friends attended Tuesday night at the Odd Fellows hall for a program of songs essays and recitations. A 16 girl drill led by Dr Kerr impressed while a comic men’s drill under Gen Mgr Tily and director Mr Welsh drew cheers. Judges awarded the Indies the banner amid male protest. Refreshments followed and the Yeoman event was hailed a great success.

The local G A R post outlines Memorial Day events next Tuesday starting 6 a m with a half mast flag salute under Comrade P H Ruddy at Mount Calvary cemetery at 6 40 a m a committee led by Ruddy decorates graves. At 1 00 p m high school cadets gather near the flag pole for a salute and at 2 30 p m memorial exercises unfold at the Keith theatre featuring addresses, songs, a Gettysburg address by Victor Halligan and a memorial address by Fred J Warren with student recitations and music.
Church activities are thriving with a fine spirit among members. All appointments are expected next Sunday except for the evening meeting. there will be no evening service at the Memorial churchhouse and a service at the Keith is planned.
