In district court Judge Grimes sustained the county’s demurrer to the Union Pacific petition appealing Lincoln county tax valuations. The court ruled valuations on non UP property were not improperly low and upheld the county board’s assessment. The ruling favors the county and County Attorney Gibbs with possible further appeal.

Heavy Storms Sweep State Cause Damage and Reports
A powerful storm described as a cyclone struck parts of the state yesterday morning. In Lexington small buildings were toppled and a car on the Union Pacific line was blown over. Minitare reported a damaging twister west of Bridgeport. Carl Brodbeck and others observed a cyclonic cloud moving east at six o clock with no damage. Kearney and nearby towns reported heavy rain and lightning.
