Joe Roushe left for Omaha to enlist in the navy. Joe Souder helps the exemption board and will enlist. Floyd Young drives near front lines in France. Lewis McNeel, son of Gus and Mrs. McNeel, arrived safely in France. Mrs. Frank Garman visited Camp Funston. John Thompson plans furlough from hospital. Aveline Gates enlisted in navy and heads to Mare Island. Clifford Dorram enlisted as second class machinist and to report in Omaha. Iver Peterson joined naval signal corps at Great Lakes. Will Thayer and others from North Platte in Thirty first engineering corps sent to Ft Leavenworth and then Canada. Lewis Williams at Mare Island now stationed in San Diego with guard duties and camp roses nearby.
The notice outlines Sunday morning activities for the M. E. Church including a 9:45 am school gathering, a leading project in progress, and a sermon at 11 pm for the graduating class. It also mentions Junior League at 2 pm Epworth League at 7 pm and a memorial service at Franklin Auditorium at 8 pm.
Architect Victor Beck draws a single story 448 by 182 foot garage with a pressed brick front and truss roof for John Ottenstein on Sixth Street east of the Romigh garage. The plan will be ready tomorrow and, if figures satisfy contractors, construction will begin soon.
Order requires age and residence for all members. All members must report to First Sergeant A. E. Bell at Moone Hall on Friday evening May 21 at 7 p.m. sharp.
A united service with the Christian church at the Baptist church features Rev. G. M. Hammond of Tennessee speaking on The Final Drive of the War for Prohibition. A strong call to attend as Hammond claims to reveal disloyalty of monor interests and national prohibition progress. The day includes 7:00 B P U and 8:00 joint Memorial Sunday services at Franklin Auditorium.
