Union Pacific granted permission to lay sewer main on West Seventh Street from the round house to near the ice houses, about 1000 feet, connecting to an existing main. West Seventh Street roadway improvements are not planned. street to be left in current condition after work.

Memorial Day Exercises Program Details
The program begins at 7 a.m. with Col Ruddy leading veterans to decorate graves at the south side cemetery. At 9:30 a.m. post and corps proceed to North Platte cemetery for flower laying and ritual service at the Grand Army plot. Afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Keith opera house features prayers, songs, Lincoln Gettysburg address, and school performances with Judge Hoagland delivering an oration.

Good Roads 7 Plan Extensive Norfolk to Weeder Highway Work
On June six men with teams traction engines scrapers road drags and paraphernalia will begin work on the 250 mile highway from Norfolk Nebraska to Weever South Dakota. The route largely needs little work but culverts bridges and widening will be added to create a boulevard like road. Each town will appoint a boss to organize local crews for one day to push the project forward.

A new committee will fund and install an electric street lighting system with widespread owner and tenant support. A Fourth of July celebration is planned plus a fall festival featuring Major Lillie and a herd of 150 buffalo from Pawnee City. A committee will arrange an entertainment banquet for the Nebraska league of building and loan associations delegates arriving June 4.

Buick Claims 24 Miles Per Gallon After Test Drive
In Boston a group of newspaper men tested Buick claims of 24 miles per gallon. They used a Buick with a smaller auxiliary gasoline tank and wind against them, recording 12.2 miles on the speedometer for part of the trip and 24.4 miles per gallon overall.
