Town and County News covers social visits in Grand Island and plans for railway repairs, train reinstatements, and travel departures to New York City Amsterdam and Hastings. It reports club meetings, real estate ads, marriages, court cases, business notes, and community events from North Platte.
From about 1000 acres originally, seven unsold tract blocks remain in Plattview Subdivision east of the city. Each city block size shows on 2x4 white stakes with numbers. M E Shuman offers five percent cash discount or ten percent down and ten percent every three months.

Fire wagon costs, city hall lot purchase, sidewalk bids, new police appointments, and special policemen were confirmed.

Pearl Barnett of Patterson near Ringgold drank two and a half ounces of carbolic acid on Sunday and died by his own hand. He was about thirty five, leaving a wife and several children. No motive given. Body brought to town Wednesday, prepared by Undertaker Ginn, shipped to Broken Bow for burial.

Work began yesterday on a 50 by 85 foot addition to the garage at Davis & Chorpenning on East Fifth Street. The new structure extends to the alley and fills the space between the front and rear of the Dickey Bros and Casein building. Mr Belton, contractor, says it will be substantially built of cement blocks.
