Snelling arrives after learning of his mother Mrs Caroline Tillis death. Manse Overman enlists in hospital corps, stationed Ft. Crook on ten day furlough, gained ten pounds since service. Lieut Burton Lambert of the navy, with Mrs Lambert, visits home while en route from Bremerton to New York. Arthur McEvoy goes to Grand Island to enlist in the navy and is sent to Omaha for final testing, likely Great Lakes. Will Ritner reports Lincoln county boys at Camp Fremont assigned to motor ammunition train, signaling earlier departure for France. Fred Perritt’s son Joe, in France with the Tenth aero squadron, served two years in the English army, transferred to American aero squadron in January.

Lincoln county to call twenty eight men Monday
The Lincoln county exemption board reserves notice that twenty eight Lincoln county boys will be included in the next call. The board will meet Monday to designate the men to go. Leaving date not definite but May 24th is probable, enabling arrival at Camp Dodge Saturday evening. The selected men will be published Tuesday.

Showman Hodgson Arrested for Handling Booze
United States District Attorney Allen reports a federal complaint charging showman Hodgson, cab owner and manager, with transporting thirty one gallons of whiskey and five barrels of beer from Cheyenne to Gothenburg. A search found liquor. Hodgson was arrested and bonded. The case notes he wintered here and sold booze locally, with purchasers later confirming their purchases.
