Brakeman Alloway Injured In Lewellen Accident
Geo M Alloway a brakeman on the North River branch and part of Conductor McFarlands crew was badly hurt Saturday at Lewellen while switching. He stepped onto the track as an engine backed five cars collided knocking him down, injuring both feet. He had foot toes mashed and the left ankle crushed. He was taken to the P and S hospital where the left foot and right toes were amputated Sunday morning. He is married with one child and had been with the company several years.

Flag Presentation Ceremony at Lincoln School
The Lincoln Scheo Friday afternoon hosted a flag presentation in front of nearly a thousand pupils and patrons with G A R and W R participants. Donations included a large flag for the school front and seven 8 by 6 flags for each room from north side residents. John KE Evans gave the speech. Miss Smith accepted for the school, with J J Halligan of the board of education also speaking. Children sang The Star Spangled Banner as the flag rose, with additional performances by younger pupils from Central building and First and Second wards marching in a drum‑led parade.
