T J Foley from Kansas City conducts business here. Mr and Mrs George Grady visit from Grand Island. E D Owens of Cozad seen in town. Thomas Gorham and family plan a move to Grand Island. Richard Stevie returns to Sheridan. Judge Grimes and Cary reporters attend court at Gandy. Wm Whitlock travels to San Antonio to inspect lands. John Bonner returns from Indiana after his aunt's death. J B McDonald ill but improving. Evertt Roberson signs with Columbus state league team. season opens soon. So Hodes visits from Lexington, extols North Platte. C T Whelan and son Kenneth plan a trip to Wadington NY and New York City. City schools tour Kearney Normal for teaching vacancies. The Lexington Artificial Ice Co will begin delivering artificial ice in the city about April 15. A liberal supply will be kept in storage and all orders to WAN Utaly.
John R. Ritner sustained a badly swollen right arm after slipping at the Union Pacific freight house Saturday evening. He was standing at the south door and tried to jump down when his foot slipped, causing a fracture and swelling of the arm.
Norman J. Snow died Saturday morning after a long illness. He had lived with his daughter Mrs. Lem Bailey and leaves a wife, three daughters, and four sons. He was well known in the Hershey area where he resided for years. The funeral was held from the Bailey residence yesterday afternoon.
Three births reported after census reports were filed. A ten pound boy arrived at Ernest Savin’s home yesterday morning to delight the parents. A girl was born to Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Dean on Friday. Rev. and Mrs. W. Porter welcomed William Rolen on May 6 1910 at 7 p.m. weighing eight and a half pounds.
In police court yesterday fore noon Martin Federhoof and St Russell were fined one dollar and costs for boisterous conduct Saturday. Magdalena Buick filed a complaint charging Will Cliff and Ray Doran with tumultuous riotous conduct and indecent language, a warrant issued. St Russell filed a complaint against Will Finney for assault. matter to be aired today or tomorrow.
J W Nugent longtime Maxwell resident was injured Friday night when he was struck by a departing train as he attempted to board at the depot. He lost three fingers on his right hand, damaged two toes on his left foot, and suffered head gashes. Baggageman Smith and Watchman Ellis rescued him and he was taken to Physicians and Surgeons hospital for treatment.

Judge Elder rules in favor of Nancy Johnson against Ginn White and Schatz for 300 dollars plus seven percent interest from February 9 1910 and 13.15 dollars costs. Defendant company to appeal to the district court.
The Third ward leads in new construction planning a 22 by 60 foot cement block building on the Vermillion real estate site. The lower floor will house a restaurant and the second floor will hold offices and rooming apartments. Construction is expected to begin soon.
About fifty high school cadets depart Thursday for Gothenburg with ample equipment for a Lake Helen camp. The group includes a probable high school band that will join part of the week making the camp lively. Strict discipline will mix with recreation including ball games and a dance.
Sealed proposals for erecting the Elk s Building a 66 by 66 eight story structure in North Platte Nebraska are due by 5 p m Wednesday May 25. Bids filed with M Keith Neville Building Committee Secretary require a 500 dollar certified check. The committee reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
