North Platte Debating Team Enters State Contest
The North Platte high school debating team will travel to Lincoln next week to compete in the state contest. The squad includes Albert Shenk George Dent Louis Breternita and alternate Robert Hoagland. The event features twelve teams from eleven districts competing Thursday through Saturday for the state pennant.

Engines 10 Be Run Through This City
Passenger engines are now run from Omaha to Cheyenne and back without change. An engine starts in Omaha, is taken to North Platte by one crew, then to Cheyenne by another. In Cheyenne it is cleaned and tested in the round house and returned with a new crew. The plan, an experiment, has been satisfactory and may reduce round house work if adopted. No change to freight engine service.

Board of Education reorganized with new members
M. B. Scott and Chas. Lierk Jr were installed as board members at a Wednesday meeting. Retiring members were Mrs. Elizabeth B. Cramer and Mrs. Ray Snyder. Edmund Dickey was reelected president, W. J. Hendy vice president, and M E Scott secretary. The secretary’s duties will be shifted to the superintendent’s clerk. Scott will serve without pay, saving $600 annually.

Warden arrests two for hunting and fishing without licenses
Deputy Game Warden A. M. Gouge arrested Clyde Chappel in Lincoln county for fishing without a license. Chappel was fined $15 with costs totaling $21.40. George Hood was released due to an uncarried license, and Lee Swoltow was fined $21.90 for hunting without a license.
