May Party Delights Hundreds at Lloyd Hall
Six hundred people attended the thirty fourth annual May Party by Division 88 of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers at the Lloyd. Music by the Stamp orchestra, classic dances by W Christie Adams, and a grand march led by Genl Supt Jeffers plus Mrs Jeffers highlighted the evening. The hall featured red white and blue lighting and guests from Omaha Grand Island Shiney and Cheyenne enjoyed twenty six dances until three in the morning. The event praised by a Tribune writer as the nicest party yet.

Council Returns From Paving Inspection Trip
Mayor Evans and seven council members toured Kearney Grand Island Hastings Lincoln and Omaha to inspect paving materials. In Omaha brick showed best for heavy traffic and officials favored it. Evans pressed Union Pacific to lower brick freight rates from Kearney to North. a likely reduction could save the city two to three thousand dollars.
