The thirty first annual May Party of Division 88 Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers at the Lloyd last night drew large crowds. Stamp orchestra provided music while red and white decor flattered the hall. dancing lasted from nine until 9:30 this morning led by F J Doran and daughter.

Auto Smashed by Train at Brady
J W Hiles automobile wrecked yesterday afternoon at Brady when struck by train No 8. Hiles was not in the car and was unharmed. Engine died while crossing the track and the east bound train crushed the auto, wedging it beneath the engine. Attempts to back off failed. the train was chained to the ties to free itself.

UP to Start Regular Local Trains on Hastings-Gibbons Branch
Omaha reports Union Pacific plans regular local train service on the Hastings-Gibbons branch beginning June 1 with ballast work likely finished by mid May. A. G. Neuman and Fréd Miller return from Colorado with 680 head of cattle, mostly yearlings, in what may be the largest shipment here at once. J. C. Pierson awarded contract to build a 700 foot cement wing at the headgate of the canal to improve water flow. Work to begin soon.
