American Legion to Attend Big Tryon Celebration
The American Legion post of the city will join with the Tryon Art Grey post in a booster trip to Tryon on April 22 for a good roads celebration. A Dutch treat noon meal precedes talks and entertainment, ending with a basket supper and dance to support the Tryon post project.

The Nebraska Association of Local Insurance Agents concluded a two day convention in this city with a banquet at the Lutheran church. About 129 members attended business sessions at the Bika Home and Keith Theater. E R Goodman served as president with J E Sebastain as secretary treasurer. Speakers included Fred B Ayers of Cleveland, George Malaur of Chicago, Bruce Young Nebraska insurance commissioner, and other prominent local figures.

Excavation and preparatory work for paving has begun on East Fourth street. A caterpillar tractor digs dirt, dump wagons carry it away, and two concrete mixers prepare foundation mix. United States Reclamation Service engineer Smith was in North Pintte to complete a preliminary survey of the Southslide Irrigation project in Lincoln County. The team will move to Dawson County for final work, then send data to Denver for expert analysis with results expected around early August. The plan calls for diverting North Platte water near Keystone to Paxton, crossing the South Platte, with a large reservoir proposed near Sunshine precinct south and west of Sutherland. Dixon Optical Co. grinds lenses.
