A state Yeomen conclave invites out of town candidates to participate. Yeomen are urged to register at Hotel McCabe to secure free tickets and badges for meetings banquet and ball. All events are free to Yeomen.
The annual meeting elected trustees Frank Buchanan Carl Hollman Hyron Obersfelder and MBE Crosby and Sunday school officers led by superintendent Arthur Allen. A pledge to donate and solicit 4200 due by July 1 was made as the church seeks to wipe out the debt by mid June.
A rector search for the Episcopal church will be conducted next week with Mshop Beecher visiting Monday. Vestrymen will meet in the evening as the Bishop presents three minister candidates and their records for consideration to fill the local parish post. The note opposes not funding school bonds to cover construction deficits and future equipment.
Captain Hall announces the Nebraska Guards will mobilize 800 men from the Fourth Nebraska Infantry and machine gun units to guard state sites. The Fifth Nebraska Infantry signals corps and field hospital are to recruit to war strength. The Nebraska National Guard seeks 3,000 more personnel and a recruiting office will open in the city. Local Company E may be tasked with guarding the U P bridge east of town.
The Christian Science Society of North Platte invites attendance at a free lecture on Christian Science by Bicknell Young of Chicago at the Masonic Temple Friday evening April 6 at 5 30. Young serves on the board of lectureship of First Church of Christ Scientist Boston. Sunday service is at 11 oclock with Sunday school at noon and weekly Sunday evening meetings at 8 p.m. in Building and Loan building room 26.

The seventh annual West Central Nebraska Teachers Association opened with about 150 teachers from Chappell to Kearney enrolled. More delegates expected. Prof Sipple and Miss Wilson of Kearney Normal attended. Cadets displayed on campus. Mrs C C Bradford opened sessions with an address. state and local officials spoke. glee clubs perform. primary work led by Miss Lowe. Miss Laura Murray oversees the education banquet. Dean College glee club to perform this evening. Weather parts cloudy and unsettled with a cold snap. high 65, low 39.
Federal crop inspector Anderson with Derryberry and Snyder assessed wheat fields south and east of town finding 15 to 20 fields in poor condition. Winter kill losses estimated from 25 to 50 percent in examined fields, with better recovery in stubble than in corn stubble and early sown fields lagging behind late. Across Nebraska south of the Platte and between the Missouri and Dawson counties losses reach 50 percent to complete failure, with some land being plowed for oats and barley.
Episcopal Church schedules Palm Sunday morning service at 11 o clock. Holy Week includes Maundy Thursday at 10 o clock, Good Friday three hour service at 12 noon at the Lutheran church led by Dr. C B Harman with Archieseon Hawker giving addresses. Friday evening Sadeg Cantatan at the Church of Our Saviour.
Miss Alma Waltemath and Miss Helen Waltemath plan a Monday luncheon after noon on April 9 to honor Miss Harriet Dixon. Miss Myrtle Beeler and Miss Lucille Wilcox from the state university are expected soon to visit for a week with local relatives. Miss Elizabeth Hinman will host a bridge party Thursday evening in honor of Miss Harriet Dixon with many young Indies participating.
