Fireman Hinkley killed at Julesburg during early morning
Fireman Walter Hinkley died after being struck by coal chutes while leaning from a moving extra at four a m near Julesburg. The body was sent to Kansas City, and Hinkley, a five year resident, was popular with railroad men and local friends. He was a member in good standing of Yeomen LOF and B of L F and FE.

Obituary: Oliver Y. Ross Dies After Illness and Fall
Oliver Y. Ross died yesterday after four o'clock from complications including asthma. He fractured his left hip in January, and died at home with funeral set for 2 20 pm conducted by Rev. George F Williams. Born January 20 1834 in Wayne County Indiana, he married Harriet Carroll in 1857 and lived in Ohio before enlisting in the 16th Ohio regiment as a sergeant. The family later moved to Knox County Missouri and in 1885 to North Platte where he worked as a blacksmith and wagon maker. He was lifelong Presbyterian. Survived by wife and children Chas P Ross of Omaha Emma Baird of Oakland Cal and Mrs A O Hamilton of this city.
