Evelyn Daly left town for Hastings. Nellie Workman hosted by parents in Julesburg with Miss Dorris O’Brien. Marie Salisbury returned from Boyle College in Omaha for Easter. Walter Goodman at Kearney Academy spent Easter with his brother. Engineer Rush M. Dean left for Los Angeles via Chicago. Mrs. Guy Robinson from Lexington visited her parents. Guy joined Elks minstrels. Dr. Voorhees Lucas began homeward route via Vienna Paris London and Southampton, sailing April 9. Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Tanner visited from Lexington. Mrs. Tanner stayed a few days.

A catastrophic prairie fire starting near Holyoke Colorado swept across the south side Saturday afternoon and night, burning twenty five miles north to Moran Canyon and ten miles wide in places. It destroyed barns, houses, cattle, hay, grain, and other property at numerous farms including the Osgood, Gun Meyer, England, Cari Broeder, Wendeborn, Baker, Refier, Leth, Grulke, Roberts, Edmiston, Garman, Sanger, and Meinke properties. Several residents were burned and many losses are reported with insurance noted for some victims.
