North Platte to Host State Encampment in June
A plan to bring nationwide culture to North Platte includes lectures and concerts as soon as equipment is available. A. W. Shilling and FE B Moody returned from Lincoln where they met with state officers of the United Spanish War Veterans about the encampment set for Hastings on June 12 to 14. The encampment will be held in tents this year to emphasize the gathering nature of the event. The Strosberg Duroc Jersey sale at Basack barn drew strong interest with every animal sold and an average of 66 dollars per head. Local buyers dominated purchases, and hogs will remain in the area. The North Platte fire insurance board issued hundreds of tickets for an illustrated lecture by George B. Maldaur of Chicago at the Keith next Wednesday.
