A petition nominating J R White for mayor was filed with City Clerk Temple on Wednesday evening by Lucien Stebbins. It lists 216 voters and appears to be driven by officers of the municipal league.

W. T. Banks files with the city clerk a petition to annex twelve blocks of the South Park addition lying south and west of Banks addition. Each block contains eight lots of 624 by 132 feet. The petition will be presented at the next city council meeting.

Green announces move to Hahler building with new billiard room

On or about April 6th I will remove my Smoke House and Billiard Parlor to the Hahler building two doors south of the Stone drug store. Gas Plant Contract Let to Lincoln Mister Phillips

The city confirms the gas franchise is real with a contract let to Mr. Phillips of Lincoln for erecting the gas plant within thirty days. The tank and apparatus sit on the electric light company's lot and the blueprints show gas mains covering much of the same area as the existing electric wires.

Burlington May Build From Worland To Guernsey

H S Ridgley of Basin Wyoming believes the Burlington will construct a line from Worland to Guernsey and possibly extend up the Platte valley. Burlington engineers have surveyed near Worland and Guernsey and hinted at a summer build, contingent on the Guernsey extension.

Wrestling match at skating rink thrills crowd in North In

Manager Kubik staged a wrestling card Wednesday night featuring Oscar Wasson of St. Louis and Wm Hokuf of Crete. About 200 attended as Wasson took the first fall in twenty minutes, Hokuf the second in seven, and Wasson the third in nine. Wasson has a challenge from Carl Matheson of St. Paul for a city bout, with a possible Wasson Matheson winner facing Framer Burns next. In prelims Jimmie Shaw defeated Ed Paul in two straight falls.

A Nebraska section reports a Tuesday night equinoxtial storm turning from heavy thunder to sleet and snow. By Wednesday morning three inches of wet snow covered the ground after rain and sleet earlier in the evening.

Four Hearts Beat as Two Wedding Ceremonies

On Tuesday afternoon Judge Elder performed two marriages. The first couple, F. B. Spurgin and Miss Tena McCrab of Paxton, were married, followed by Elmer Clement and Allie J. Custer of Wellfleet. Both couples left with blessings and bright prospects.

Oregon land purchase by H. T. Pritchard in Rogue River Valley

H. T. Pritchard, after weeks in the northwest, bought 700 acres near Grant's Pass in Rogue River Valley. About eighty acres lack fruit trees while most land can be irrigated. He will return to North Platte by June 1 and move his family to the new property.

Judge Dismisses Chicken Stealing Case in Medicine Precinct

Judge Elder on Tuesday afternoon dismissed the case against Clarence Crawley Bert Crawley Fred Ralston Abner Butler and Ottis McMullen all of Medicine precinct charged with stealing Tim Rafferty's chickens. One Crawley received a $5 fine for contempt of court after failing to appear when required.

Lincoln County cattleman buys Polled Herefords in Chicago sale

John McConnel of Somerset Nebraska, a pioneer merchant feeder, plans to buy Polled Herefords at F A Nave's sale in Chicago. He ships 60 head of 11 month old calves weighing about 800 pounds and aims to reduce his herd to pure Polled Herefords. Lincoln county will lead Nebraska in corn, he says, while hogs sold at 6.80 per cwt. St Joe Live Stock Journal reports.
