Seven local auto dealers meet and set April 7 8 and 9 for the North Platte Auto Show. Cars will be grass green and snow white with Derbin Auto Co garage transformed into a beauty spot. Free admission and daily music and features planned. auto accessories exhibitors declined due to space limits.
The Tribune offers two free want-ads for men and women seeking work in North Platte or vicinity. Write the work you can do and contact details, then mail or bring to the office. no cost. Names are optional. SS Dedmore will leave Sunday for Grant to conduct business for a few days. Mrs. E R Smith was off duty at County Attorney Keefe’s office yesterday.
Word arrived that the body of Paul Duckworth son of Mr and Mrs Duckworth will be sent to North Platte after arrival at the New York pier. Services will be held in a local church under the American Legion with burial at Fort McPherson cemetery. Date is not yet known.
Officers and directors held a meeting at the Episcopal Church Tuesday evening with over a hundred members present. John B Edwards presided over a list of brief talks on school needs camp grounds hospital and auditorium plans. A vote of confidence for the secretary and officers prevailed.
Community calendar items include lodge and church events, scouting rally, firemen ball, cantata at the Lutheran Church The Crucifixion, Lincoln County Farm Bureau meeting at the Court House room 220, Franklin School drive committee gathering, North Platte Auto Show at Durbin's Garage on April 8 to 9, Golden Rule Bible class at Mrs Henry Parker home, ten cent social by Lady Maccabees at the K P Hall, United Spanish War Veterans meeting at A W Shilling home, all inviting friends and members.
The Lincoln County Pure Bred Stock Association will hold its first public sale of pure bred livestock at the Fair Grounds on Monday, April 11. A large tent will be erected since the sales pavilion is not yet ready, and at least one hundred prospective buyers are expected.
The Literature Music and Art Department of the Twentieth Century Club held its annual officer election at Miremen's Hall on Tuesday afternoon with Mrs C B McReynolds as chairman Mrs Mary B Raddy as vice chairwoman and Mrs J L Moran as secretary treasurer. About 125 members attended. A play drew praise and paintings by Miss Katheryn Woods were showcased from the Lincoln Fine Art Studio. Mrs Julius Piger hosts bridge this afternoon for Mrs Harry Fleischman at West Second Street.
Lincoln County farmers listed to lead the Farm Bureau membership drive by County Captain A. S. Gregg. Precincts include Antelope Brady Maxwell North Platte Hershey Curtis Curtis and more with volunteers spanning towns such as Wellfleet Gothenburg Paxton and Sutherland.
Good Friday observances give way to Easter celebrations across churches. Episcopal, Methodist, Catholic, Presbyterian and Lutheran congregations present special programs with organ preludes, anthems, sermons, and baptisms. Notable items include Easter processions, choral works, and Holy Communion services.
Fat candidates listed for city posts including treasurer and water commissioner with ward council seats. Lexington Chamber of Commerce president addresses Kiwanis. Minnual Training class pupils prep to teach in city schools under supervision. Song promotion for “Alice Blue Gown.” Goodrich tires advertised for bikes with local retailer John H. Null.
The Lutheran Church choir under Mrs. Frank Hatch will present The Crucifixion by Stainer for music lovers, appropriate to Good Friday, described as spiritual and musical. They will also perform Dvorak's Blessed Jean Fount of Mercy. All are invited.
The North Platte Kiwanis Club prepares for a charter presentation on March 20 with international officers officiating. State Kiwanis clubs report special cars bringing large delegations for the ceremony.
