Local merchants unite for a spring fashion show at Keith Theatre on Wednesday March 28 at 7 30 p m featuring ready to wear garments and millinery on living models. The event aims to attract a wide audience of ladies from near and far and runs a five reel feature alongside. Admission is twenty cents.
The second community entertainment will be held at the Franklin auditorium next Tuesday evening March 27 at eight o'clock. Mrs York Hinman program manager says the program will be informal with fine talent including Mrs Victor Anderson Mrs Frank Hatch Mrs Harry Cramer Mrs G Huffman Mrs J W Toole Mrs Frank Buchanan Miss Florence MacKay Dorothy Elizabeth Hinman Thelma Starr and many others. Admission is free.
North Platte to host a new wholesale groceries and fruit firm named likely North Platte Grocery Company. backed by Granger Bros and Stacy Bros, with local backing and aims to supply territory from Kearney to Shiney and along the North River branch. temporary Hinman Block Front street quarters 66 by 80 feet, building a proper railroad connected facility soon. local chamber support and Tribune optimism noted.
The Mutual Building and Loan Association votes renewals for directors at its March 24 meeting. A city council second reading paves the way for a bond election to fund a bridge over the South Platte. Local obituaries and visits note Clea Bigham’s meningitis death, Miss Emily Richardson’s Coxad visit, and Alfalfa seed sold at eight dollars and seventy six cents per bushel.
A queen and fourteen maids will be chosen by popular vote for the semi centennial celebration ball in a tent for 450 couples and 2600 spectators. Harry Dixon chairs the committee with tickets $2.50 for couples and 50 cents for spectators. Votes cost one cent.
Mrs Mra M. Pritchard, principal of International School of Scientific Corsetry, will present a free three day La Camille Corsets demonstration at Mock'n Lindon' Outfitting Store on March 29 30 and 31. Also marriage news Miss Hather Bailey of Lincoln wed Frank Scharmann of Protola last week in Delle Fouche.
