North Platte notes include bonds and local events

The Knights of Columbus plans a class of forty or fifty in late April. Bonds for a forty thousand dollar school issue have been ordered. Various local items follow about auctions, travel plans, theater performances, talks, and social visits, including a temperance lecture and a wrestling match announcement.

Mr and Mrs Manifee returned to Decatur Nebraska after visiting C A Weir. A B Hoagland goes to St Louis for a week. Mrs F W Robbins leaves for Bethlehem Pennsylvania after father’s death. Maggie Hall goes to Denver to assist H V Hilliker family. Earl Owens, seaman, visits North Platte on way to Ogden to see parents Colonel and Mrs Owens. Annie Kramph leaves for Chicago to visit sister Mrs Geo A Saint. Miss Kramph may accompany her home. T J Foley of Kansas City, last in Lincoln for real estate matters, will return around April 10.

Keystone Ranch Auction Ends Paxton Era and Town Growth

The Keystone ranch equipment and work stock, laid out in several carloads, sold at public auction for over $10,000, closing W A Paxton Jr's property interests established thirty five years ago by his father. The ranch was divided into eighty to 160 acre tracts bringing $500,000 total, with 28,000 acres sold in one day. Keystone town grows with German colonization, shifting from hay to a garden of alfalfa and sugar beets. Rinker’s Book Store promotes a new stationery line.

Annual Meeting Notice for Mutual Building and Loan Association

North Platte Engineer Delivers Early Train Section

Engineer Dennis O'Brien of North Platte delivered the first section of No. 10 in two hours twenty six minutes, cutting one hour thirty four minutes from the schedule. Krutt schnitt of Chicago rode the train, which was belated but nearly the division’s fastest. Engine No. 35 pulled five cars, with the train leaving North Platte at 11 31 and arriving at an Island station.
