The Saturday sale at North Side barn drew buyers from fourteen towns. Strollberg sold twelve head at an average 159 dollars and Birge ten head at 162 dollars. Lot details list buyers from East Part state and various towns with prices from 127.50 to 205 dollars. Also notes a separate beauty parlor and barber shop agreement fixing 35 cents for haircuts, effective April 1, 1916, signed March 12, 1916.

Bids for New Junior High Building Far Exceed Estimate
The school board opened about twenty bids for the new junior high school construction. All bids topped the $50,000 estimated by the architect, with Howard McMichael submitting the low bid of $60,000 which will be reduced to fit the $50,000 bond through interior changes to be agreed in meetings tonight and tomorrow. The heating plant is included in the $60,000 bid, and signing of the contract is expected after the conferences.

Hotel McCabe Opens Tomorrow
The new Hotel McCabe will open at noon tomorrow with luncheon served 11:49 to 2. The furnishings are new and modern with baths in many rooms and running water and telephone in all. Owner Dr. McCabe and lessee C. O. Weingand receive public support. Twenty firefighters attended church services Sunday evening. Pastor H. G. Knowles thanked the fire department for their work in the church basement fire. Mrs. J. W. McGraw hosted a luncheon for Mrs. Pollock, with St Patrick’s Day themed decor and Irish tales. The store lists new spring corset models from Henderson and La Princesse. A lost item notice asks for a sterling Dob-O-Link bracelet engraved Mar. 12, Chas. 1910, return to McDonald State Bank.

Shilallan Club Holds Third Annual Banquet
The Knights of Shilallah held their third annual banquet at the bachelors' bungalow after assembling in the Elks' club. A parade along Dewey street featured green hats, sashes, a green carnation and pennant, with a donkey and band. Speakers included Mayor Byans and Geo M. Smith among others, as guests enjoyed a six course dinner and decorated tables.
