First National Bank Opens Modern New Building
The First National Bank moved into a new 44 by 66 foot buff brick and marble building with Italian and Grecian finishes. The opening day drew about 5000 visitors with 800 schoolchildren. the structure includes a private customers room, a savings department, a burglar vault, 200 safety boxes, and a second floor clinic. The bank’s resources exceed one million dollars as it enters its 32nd year.

The initial community concert at Franklin auditorium drew about 900 attendees. Performances by Miss Huffman Miss Terma Matt and a North Platte glee club pleased the audience, while Dr. McCabe spoke on the Franklin school deficit and bond needs.
