Local Firemen Organize Moochers of the World
North Platte Volunteer Firemen form a new group called the Moochers of the World with a $2 entry fee. Each member is entitled to be called four moocher and mooches the fee back. Substation Hen Wins Blue Ribbon in Lincoln Contest
In the Nebraska National Beg Lay Ing contest at Lincoln under the Department of Poultry husbandry, a single comb White Leghorn hen from the North Platte substation laid 24 eggs in February to win a blue ribbon. North Platte entries totaled 186 eggs for February, with the top pen, owned by W. T. Davis of College View, laying 208 eggs as the month’s best. The leading white leghorn and the white Orpington are also mentioned, while the North Platte hen has produced 82 eggs to date.
