City to test new pumping plant for water pressure
The city water department plans a test well at the southeast corner of the Washington school block. A two inch bore will reach under 150 feet with possible expansion to four inches and eight inch casings if water is ample. An electrically driven centrifugal pump may be installed at a capacity of 1000 gallons per minute. Cost is estimated between 4000 and 5100 dollars. If the test proves insufficient, auxiliary pumping stations like those in Grand Island and Lincoln may be used to restore pressure in outlying districts.

Connell Fills Vacancies In City Council
The city council met in regular semi monthly session Tuesday evening and filled two vacancies. Dr. J. B. Redfield was appointed city physician to replace Dr. J. S. Simms.
