Temperance meeting this week includes talks by M C Johnson at Bignell school and by W Porter at Hall school on Thursday night.

Remarkable Coal Haul Sets Record On Virginia Rails
A train over a mile long hauled by a single Mallet engine covered 125 miles in fifteen hours five minutes. The consist had 120 gondola cars carrying 6,600 tons of coal, with gross weight 9,120 tons. The Mallet engine weighed 319000 pounds and burned twelve tons of coal. actual running time was eight hours fifteen minutes.

Druggist Bent Charged With Illicit Liquor Sale
Deputy Sheriff Lowell detained Frank H. Bent of Wallace on liquor without license charges. Bent to appear in county court on April 15 after posting a $1,000 bond. About 200 bottles of liquor were seized from his drug store and brought to the city as evidence.
