Strike Settlement Progress Reported By Officials
Word from union and railroad officials indicates another effort will be made to settle the strike. Details of any conference are not confirmed, but both sides are said to be eager to reach an agreement and concessions are anticipated.
Will Have Chautauqua In City This Summer
A Redpath Horner bureau representative, backed by the Chamber of Commerce, will run a five day Chautauqua starting July 18. The city will receive ten percent of admission receipts while the bureau covers site and seats at no cost, selling season tickets at two dollars each. Attractions include the Dunbar Male Quartet, Fisher Shipp company, Rigniers, the impersonator, Military Girls Musical, doctors Gordon Mitchel and Bradford, and Ned Woodman the cartoonist.

City voters are summoned to a mass convention at the court house on Thursday March 13 at 8 PM to nominate a non partisan city ticket. A Democratic electors convention will meet at the court house on Wednesday March 12 at 8 PM to nominate four councilmen and two school board members.

March Term District Court Opens With Light Docket
The March term of district court will convene next Monday with a light docket. Judge Grimes and Clerk Prosser have decided jury presence is unnecessary, and the jury drawn last Saturday was discharged. The U S Supreme Court Union Pacific ruling does not affect the Norris bill or its passage. a Colorado decision likewise does not apply to the Lexington case brought by the Farmers association. A thorough examination is still pending.
